In the entertainment and intellectual property areas, Mr. Alvaro Pascotto, who represents several European media companies, has focused on transactions pertaining to the development, production, co-production, and financing of motion pictures and their international distribution. Mr. Pascotto has particular experience with foreign sales and licenses and has structured and handled the business and legal aspects of large transactions such as the sale of motion picture libraries. Mr. Pascotto has developed considerable expertise with respect to the international tax issues associated with the exploitation of filmed entertainment products and the related structures that can minimize or abate direct and indirect taxation.
Mr. Pascotto serves as general counsel to various European clients engaged in international trade and their expansion into the United States market. He handles most of the general corporate matters of such clients and their investment activities. He also advises a well-known museum in Los Angeles in the acquisition of fine art properties, including antiquities.
In addition, Mr. Pascotto has extensive experience in all aspects of business aircraft transactions, including acquisitions, outfittings, financings, leases, sales, tax-free exchanges, ownership, management and operation arrangements, FAA regulations issues, methods of U.S. aircraft registration for non-U.S. persons, and all related tax aspects (federal and state). Mr. Pascotto is a member of the Tax Committee of the National Business Aviation Association, Inc.
Mr. Pascotto received his J.D. from the University of Rome. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Italian American Lawyers Association, and the National Italian American Bar Association.
